About

Tech Savvy Digest is an independent publication for people who run, secure and build technology: IT administrators, developers, security practitioners, and curious readers who want the signal without the noise.

Who’s behind it

Tech Savvy Digest is written and edited by Alex Mercer, a pen name for a working IT administrator. Alex’s day job is managing infrastructure for a mid-sized organization: Windows domains, file services, incident response documentation and staff security awareness. The coverage here is shaped by what that work teaches you: which news affects real systems, and which is just noise.

What we cover

  • Cybersecurity: vulnerabilities, active threats and what to patch first
  • Cloud and DevOps: platform changes from AWS, Azure and Google Cloud and what they mean in practice
  • AI and machine learning: developments that affect how teams work
  • Crypto and Web3: market news, token launches and security incidents, covered skeptically
  • Tools and reviews: software and services we’ve looked at, with the trade-offs stated

How articles are made

We use AI tools to help draft articles from public reporting, and we say so openly. Each piece is built on named sources, which we link, and is reviewed before it is published. Newer articles include a section on what the news means for IT teams, because that is the part a summary can’t give you.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, tell us through the Contact page. We fix errors promptly and note significant corrections on the article.
